Thank You For The Wildlife

Did You Know?

From the coastal marshes to rural farms and housing, to small towns, Delaware Bay encompasses diversity.  Its tens of thousands of acres of wetlands and tidal flats provide homes for numerous species of birds, mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates including the endangered Atlantic sturgeon and Black skimmer.

Thank You for the Wildlife Spectacular concentrations of migrating waterfowl along the Atlantic Flyway can be observed during certain periods in the spring and fall in the bay. More than a million shorebirds can be seen in the spring eating invertebrates in the wetland areas, and horseshoe crab eggs along the Delaware Bay beaches before continuing their migration to Arctic nesting grounds.
